Bento Corner

Another request for sandwich by the girl. Got the same reqeust for the cream cheese/salmon and cream cheese/jam plus a vegetable she can dip.

I'm wondering if this is all I am going to make for her while she is attending this school...

Maybe I'll change it up a bit next week...

Made sandwiches for my daughter's snack today. These are cream cheese/strawberry jam and cream cheese/smoked salmon filling.

The one on the right is a horse and the one on the left is a sheep. I also included carrot sticks and a bit of Japanese mayonnaise for dipping. My daughter says sandwiches are better since she can finish those faster than onigiri. She is also requesting vegetables she can dip. I think one of her friends at school does this and she wants to give it a go too.

Got a request to post the actual craft punches I use, so here they are.

The red one actually is stuck as of this morning and I can't get it back to its original position, so I believe I'm going to have to get a new one. Good thing my folks are visiting from Japan next week! EEEeeeek (with excitement, of course!)!

I tried shiubazuke onigiri for day 2 of kindergarten with tamagoyaki and broccoli.

My daughter came home crying because I put too much in her bento and she didn't have time to play with the other kids. I felt badly since she really tried to finish eating everything...but the onigiri was too big. It also doesn't help that she is a slow eater. So she requested a smaller bunny onigiri for next time. :o)
