Happy Onigiri Bento

Bento includes umeboshi onigiri, broccoli, and kanikama tamagoyaki. The pink container includes mayonnaise for the broccoli.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been busy running around and we drove down to LA again for a Fundraiser Gala and visited Disneyland for the third time this year. We should have paid to be annual passholders -- I think this would have saved us so much money, but we had no idea we would be visiting so often this year.

Jeez...

I just found out that someone on the Flickr pages has stolen pictures from my site and claimed them as their own.

I know this happens to many people and I now understand how it sucks and it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. It especially bothered me to see pictures of my own kids well, basically objectified...

Anyway, I complained to Flickr to have the page removed.

ETA: Got a very fast response and the pages were removed pretty quickly -- thank you, Flickr! For the record, I have never had a Flickr account.

Onigiri is Back!

I finally packed a mini umeboshi onigiri for my daughter.

Bento also includes tamagoyaki with kanikama, Asian pears, and okra ohitashi.

I even made a bento for my son:

And even one for my husband:

My husband works from home so I don't need to really pack bentos for him, but just did it for fun.

I actually made another bento for my daughter to eat at home after school, but she alredy began eating hers, so I didn't bother taking a photo of that one. Didn't make one for me since I got too lazy after making everyone else's. I just dumped the same contents on a plate and dug in that way. :o)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sun Pancake Bento

My daughter has been requesting a sun shaped bento for sometime now and I tried to trick her with stars and whatnot, but she still kept remembering her original request. I am really missing those times when she was so easily distracted. We could be at the park and she would want ice cream from the ice cream man, but all I had to say was, "You want ice cream from the ice cream truck? Hey, but first let's look at squirrel over there!" Then we'd chase after the squirrel and she would completely forget about ice cream.

But come to think of it, my husband still seems to go through this stage from time to time. Chocolate or anything technically related seems to distract him quite a bit. So perhaps it's not a stage that people go through but more personality? He is a great guy and everything, but this is sometimes why I refer to my husband as my "third child".

In any case, this was made from the lion mold, but still sorta looks like a sun, right? It's got peanutbutter and strawberry jam in the middle. The mini heart also has the same filling. Strawberries with mini forks which my mom's friend sent me from Japan! Hideko-san, itsumo osewani narima~su!
