Bento Corner

     

I am a stay at home mom of two. I am American, but I was born and raised in Japan. Currently residing in Tokyo again, but this time with my kids and husband.

My daughter graduated from a Japanese preschool and American kindergarten both located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since moving to Japan, she is now attending Japanese kindergarten (school year goes from April through March), so I make bentos for her daily which she takes to school. Though sometimes when school lets out early I get a break from bento-ing.

Likes:

• watching dvds
• eating Mexican and other non-Japanese food in Tokyo
• Pal Systems -- groceries delivered to my home
• life without a car at the moment -- environmentally friendly and great exercise!

Dislikes:

• big bugs
• clutter
• humidity

Learning:

• To take the bus system and Metro since not too many people ride bicycles in the heart of Tokyo.
• That everything takes a lot longer to do when you don't have a car
• To be more open and accept other people's values while holding true to my own.
